Acroyoga: What Is It?

There are loads of different types of yoga popping out the woodwork in recent years. Hot yoga, Bikram yoga, baby yoga, the list goes on. But we came across a certain type of yoga that really caught our eye. AcroYoga. Full of fancy positions contortionists would be jealous of and most that can only be done with a partner, it looks far too difficult for us. But we still wanted to find out more!

What is AcroYoga exactly?

AcroYoga elevates the connection between you and others through movement, connection, and play.

What does AcroYoga mean?

Acro in Greek elevated or high up, and Yoga in Sanskrit translates to notions of union, or joining. The experience AcroYoga is known to immediately make you feel brave and fearless and invites practitioners to tap into new and infinite possibilities of communication, trust, and union. The combination of acrobatics, yoga, and healing arts, AcroYoga has built a community of active teachers and practitioners all over the world!

What does it consist of?

It consists of three elements, arobatic practices, which cultivate empowerment, joy and trust. Lunar therapeutic practices, this manages compassion, listening skills and being able to release any negativity. Lastly, yoga practice in general creates awareness of your breath, life balance and connection.
