Here at mio, we pride ourselves on using natural and effective ingredients. This being said, you’ll never find us using the word ‘organic’ – in fact we’ve banned it from the mio HQ! We feel that ‘organic’ is too widely in the industry today which is why we prefer to shout that our products contain no nasties!
Just one quick look at our ingredients list and you can immediately see how passionate we are about creating the best natural skincare possible. Whether you’re a fan of our mama mio range or a new convert to mio, you can rest assure that your natural skincare is not tested on animals and it doesn’t contain any nasties!
What are these nasties, we hear you say! Well we’re very proud to say that all of our products are free from parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, artificial colourants, sodium laureth or lauryl sulphate, xenoestrogens, phthalates, PEGs or glycols – phew that was a mouthful!
We’re not here to bore you with science, but by excluding these nasties from our natural skincare range, we’ve spent extra time in developing our unique formulas to ensure that not only are our products safe, they actually work!
Why is mineral oil is a BIG no-no?
Mineral oil is made up of large molecules that are unable to actually sink into your skin. The oil sits on the top layer and is unable to go anywhere else! When you hear that a product can ‘lock in moisture’ check out the ingredients and search for mineral oil. Although at first hand this all sounds peachy, it totally masks your skin and prevents it from breathing properly – and we all know important that is! Initially your skin will appear smooth, but as time goes on there will be an increase of bacteria and sweat trapped between the oil and your skin. This could make you break out and can make skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis worse!
And that’s why you’ll NEVER find mineral oil in our natural skincare!!
